Paragon Zero's founding member, guitarist and major song-writer P sadly passed away in 2021, but the band decided to honor his final wishes about the band and record his final compositions that resulted in this album titled "Hexikon", the last chapter in Paragon Zero's story.
"The life of a great man - Péter "P" Bonnyay (02.23.1991 - 11.18.2021) whom we all considered a close friend - was not everything that was cut short tragically. The long-held prospect of producing the first (which sadly turned out to be the only) Paragon Zero LP has also been put to a halt in the midst of grief and disbelief. It took a lot of time for us to come to terms with the loss, pick up the pieces and move on with the project as he wished. Yet in 2023, we managed to do that, so it is with great pleasure that we can finally share the long-awaited full-length album, entitled "Hexikon". The cover artwork, once again created by our collaborator on the Omass EP, Ikosidio.
"Hexikon" will contain all the near-completed compositions written during the 2020-2021 preproduction sessions together with P, which sadly we never got to properly record as a band. The rough demos were finished by surviving members András "A" Gergely (guitars, bass), Vivien "WN" Brányi (guitars) and Zsolt "Z" Lédeczi (vocals), with additional contributions from former member Gravel S, P's longtime fiancée Marielle Montagnon, and drummer Tamás Galántay (Haenesy, Mádra, Fetishstar, ex-Slytract). Guitar performance from P himself appears on select tracks as well, preserved in good quality from the early demo recordings.
The full album is out on 23rd February, 2024. This date marks what would have been P's 33rd birthday, so this is our ultimate gift to him, and a seemingly appropriate time to celebrate his life and legacy by releasing his final pieces of art to the world. It can also be regarded as a sendoff for Paragon Zero as a musical entity, which will cease all activities after this release." Paragon Zero
